| Pattaya,
Thailand - renowned for its nightlife,
hotels and restaurants.
Pattaya has become one of the hottest tourist and ex pat locations in
the world. Every year hoards of tourists flock to the Eastern seaboard
of Thailand and many, after frequent visits, decide it should be their
second or even first home.
There are many factors of course; the beautiful Thai women, the food,
the weather, the hospitality, the smiles and of course, the cost of living.
Flights to Bangkok are surprisingly cheap these days and now, with the
new direct highway, Pattaya is only a further 2 hour drive from the airport.

| The
Beaches
Pattaya has two beautiful beaches with sandy stretches and shade provided
by the tropical palm trees. The main being Pattaya Beach itself, along
the aptly named Pattaya Beach Road. Adjacent to the beach are numerous
bars, restaurants and hotels of which you would be lucky if you managed
to sample them all within a two week vacation.

The second beach is Jomtien's Dongtan
beach which is fast becoming as popular as its sister beach and only 5-10
minutes ride from Pattaya main in one of the local baht buses. Again bars,
restaurants and hotels adjourn the beach which is why Pattaya is becoming
the tropical holiday that people dream about.

Nightlife
Most people would have read and heard about Pattaya's famous nightlife.
Beer bars and Go Go bars are a plenty, a good few hundred I believe the
last rumours stated.
If you're looking for romance then stake your pension on finding it in
Pattaya. The bars are populated with many a Thai girl looking for that
one Farang (Foreigner) that will whisk them away from their village life
and take care of them forever under a financially secure blanket.
However, care and common sense is widely advised when embarking on a Thai
relationship. Details are not required here as there are many a story
to be told in books, on the internet and around the bars, you just need
to look or ask.

Daytime
Daytime activities are also in abundance in Pattaya. With the water park,
the beaches offering water bikes, parascending and banana boat rides,
daytime and nighttime zoos, crocodile farms, a sea life centre, a snake
show, tropical gardens, giant gold Bhuddas, a mini Siam I doubt it will
leave much time for anything else!

However, that said, should you find
you have done all those things, Pattaya is also a gateway to tours and
trips to landmarks and local islands for either overnight stays or just
daytime trips.
Fishing trips can be arranged and also golfing holidays are a favourite
amongst many tourists. Pattaya has many professionally designed courses
to offer and at prices you won't believe, all are within a 40 minute drive.

Pattaya
for the Family
It is merely a myth that Pattaya is fraught with the sex trade at every
corner. It is possible to have a good family holiday in this beautiful
sun soaked City.
Most of the Thai restaurants cater for the usual tourist with excellent
food and traditional Thai entertainment. The Thai dancers and music can
be mesmerizing at times and some will even invite you up on stage after
your meal if you're lucky (Certainly nothing involving ping pong balls
in these establishments).
Cabaret shows are a must (if you can put aside that some of the men, that
are dressed as ladies, are more beautiful than some of the ladies dressed
as ladies).
Cinemas are cheap and fully air conditioned
and the shopping centres are all open till late.
